Four suspected kidnappers and armed robbers have been remanded in a correctional facility in Ondo State.

The suspects who had been remanded by means of a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, the nation capital had been accused of allegedly kidnapping a Chinese national, Zhang Jiande.

The suspects – Olawale Bakinde, Moses Moni Edafe, Elokumor Okutu and Wisdom lgono had been alleged to have dedicated the offence at the Omotosho axis of the nationalongside Ore/Ijebu-Ode expressway.

They pleaded now notresponsible to the prices leveled in opposition to them, that they conspired to commit legal to with kidnapping and armed robbery.

The suspects who have beenadditionally charged with illegal possession of weapons and theft had at some point of the operation robbed one Feng Wen Xue, a Chinese citizen who works at Wewood agency Omotosho of his Redmi phone handset valued at N280,000.

According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Adesegun, the accused peoplehave been armed with an unlicensed gun as properly as a knife whilst they robbed and kidnapped their victims.

The cost sheet which examine in section stated, ”That you, Olawale Bakinde, Moses Moni Edafe, Elokumor Okutu and Wisdom lgono and others at massive on the identical date, time and area did inside the aforementioned Magisterial District whilst armed with hazardous weapons did kidnap one Zhang Jiande a Chinese citizen who work at Wewood agency Omotosho and thereby dedicated an offence opposite to Section 3(I)(b) of the Ondo State Anti kidnapping and Anti Abduction Laws,2010.

The offence was oncesaid to be opposite to and punishable beneath Section l(1) (2) (a) of Robbery and Firearms ( Special Provision) Act Cap Rll , LFN 2004.

Magistrate Olanipekun Mayomi remanded the 1st, 2nd and third accused individuals in jail custody, whilst he granted the 4th defendant bail in the sum of One Million Naira with a surety in like sum.

The case was onceas a result adjourned until December 9, 2021.
